Hockey Edmonton Coach Mentorship Program
Hockey Edmonton will begin the Coach Mentorship Program starting in the 2021-22 season; for Hockey Edmonton member associations (Districts, Operating Areas, and Athletic Clubs) only. Mentors will be recruited, trained, and assigned to teams. Mentors will follow strict protocol and procedures to provide the most professional and effective support to our member coaches. The Coach Mentorship Program was developed by the Hockey Edmonton Technical Director, a Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) consultant, and various "hockey development experts." The Coach Mentorship Program information is outlined in the following document (program changes may occur before start date), along with the proposed rollout schedule below:
The Coach Mentorship Program will be rolled out over the next three seasons, in the following phases:
2021-22 Season:
- AAA & AA Teams (Elite Hockey)
- U9 Teams (EFHL)
- TIMBITS U7 Teams (EFHL)
2022-23:
- U11 Teams (EFHL)
- U13 Teams (EFHL)
2023-24:
- U15 Teams (EFHL)
- U18 Teams (EFHL)
