U13 AA OEG Cup


The Edmonton Oilers and Hockey Edmonton are proud to once again host the OEG Cup. U13 AA players from around Edmonton are vying to earn the right to represent the capital region in the legendary Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament in February 2023. 

The championship game takes place Monday, October 3 at 7PM at the Downtown Community Arena. Bragging rights aren't the only thing up for grabs. OEG will present the winners with gear for the tournament in Quebec, and up to ten thousand dollars in matching fundraising dollars to help with the costs of the trip of a lifetime!

Game Length | METRO DIVISION

Games on September 24 will be 3 x 17 minute periods, with 1 flood between period 2 and 3.

Games on September 25 and 28 will be 3 x 20 minute periods, with 1 flood between period 2 and 3.

Championship Game October 3 will be 3 x 20 minute periods, with floods after each period.

Game Length | RURAL DIVISION

All games will be 3 x 20 minute periods with flood between period 2 and 3 except for the Championship Game on October 3, which will be 3 x 20 minute periods with floods after each period.

Overtime - Round Robin Play

If the score is tied at the end of regulation time, there will be a shootout. Each team is guaranteed three shooters. If the teams are tied after three shooters, the shootout will turn into a sudden victory format. Players can only shoot once until every player on the team has taken a shot.

Overtime - Championship Game

If the score is tied at the end of regulation time in the championship game, the teams will go into a 5-minute sudden victory format with four players aside (ie. three skaters and a goalie per team).

In the event the game is still tied after the 5-minute sudden victory period, the teams will go into a shootout. Each team will be guaranteed five shooters. In the event the teams are still tied after five shooters, the shootout turns into a sudden victory format. Players can only shoot once until every player on the team has taken a shot.

Time Keeping & Game Sheets

Home teams are to supply the time keepers/score keepers and game sheets. Please reference the length of periods for each respective division above. 

Team officials need to send games sheets (and write-ups of any infractions) to office@hockeyedmonton.ca immediately following the game.

Regional teams must follow the direction of their Minor Discipline Committee and use the link provided in their Tournament Permit to upload game sheets and write ups.

All teams are required to have a permit to participate in the tournament. The OEG Cup tournament sanction number is HA-22360464.

Costs for Referees

Both teams are to share the cost of the referees. In the Championship game, OEG is providing the ice time while the two teams will be responsible for sharing the cost of the referees.

Championship Team

The winning team will represent the Oilers Entertainment Group and Hockey Edmonton at the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament in Quebec City, February 8 to 19, 2023.

Clubs from Edmonton and area (Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Beaumont, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Leduc and Strathcona County) are invited to play each other for the opportunity to compete in Quebec. The winning team will also be awarded:                       

  • Edmonton Oilers branded jerseys and socks and the use of Oilers branded gloves, helmets and pant shells;
  • 50/50 proceeds to help offset the costs of the trip (final amount to be determined but estimated at approximately $10,000); and
  • Upon winning, the champions will also be hosted in a luxury suite at an Edmonton Oil Kings game and featured on the giant scoreboard

Hosted at the Videotron Centre in Quebec, the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament will be played February 8 to 19, 2023, welcoming over 120 teams from around the globe. Teams are guaranteed two games; the latter of which takes place at the Pavillon de la Jeunesse. Out of town teams can billet with Quebec families so players can enjoy an enriching cultural experience in addition to playing hockey.
