Hockey Edmonton's ‘Learn to Play Hockey’ program is a low commitment, low cost introduction into the sport for kids ages 5 to 16.
This is a stress-free transition into recreational hockey, as these one-hour long sessions take place at the same time and arena each week. If your child can skate (glide forwards/stride on their own), this program will help develop the technical skills, like puck-handling, shooting, and passing, to give them the confidence to register for minor hockey programs in the future. Whether you’re trying hockey for the first time, or you’ve graduated from other introductory programs like The First Shift or Timbits, this is a great way to bridge the gap between learn-to-play programs and minor hockey.
For $210, your child will receive:
*Please Note: NO hockey equipment (other than a jersey) will be provided when registering for this program. A full equipment list required to be able to go on the ice is below. To be eligible for this program, athletes must have a basic skating foundation (be able to glide forwards and stride on their own). This is NOT a Learn to Skate Program. No makeup sessions or credits will be provided for missed dates.
Fall 2024 session will start November 16, ( Saturday ) at Millwoods arena and be at 145 pm. Details will be updated on the website and once registration is ready, you will be able to register on this page. We hope to open registration in the very near future (August or September)
Hockey Edmonton will provide a hockey jersey to all registrants, however NO hockey equipment will be provided when registering for this program. Hockey Edmonton wishes to support the participation in minor hockey for all Edmontonians, and encourages participants in need of assistance to follow the links below for further information:
